After 13 year-old Peter 0’Halloran, of 2 Dalton Street, Wagga, was injured in a street accident on Friday night and all he was worried about was his mouth organ. The lad was playing the mouth organ while riding a bicycle, and he had a bag over his head to protect him from the rain. He had his head down, and at the corner of Urana Road and Bourke Street, he collided with a car and was thrown to the road. Wagga Ambulance took the boy to the Base Hospital outpatientās department, where three stitches were inserted in a head wound. But Peter was more concerned about his mouth organ than anything else. Constable Grebert, who inquired into the accident, returned the mouth organ, safe and sound, to the boy’s father. (He Still Has His Mouth Organ – Daily Advertiser, Wagga Wagga, 6th February 1950)

Great story. Itās the simplicity of the story that says more in itās few words than a more intricate one. And letās you build on it with your own imagination. Shows passion for the more important things in life. Not bothered about the wound and needing stitches. And his head must of really hurt if he needed stitches! And the policeman too showed his own character in that action of going to find the snort. What about his bike? Less important? Why did he have a paper bag? Cheers for this. Very true. I love that phrase. Great perspective to life. But except altered for āyour guitarā. Iāve been playing the six strings a lot recently. Itāll be nice to take it on a few VeeDub journeys. Ask your son to make sure itās okay underneath. Sometimes you think the old vintage ones are in great condition in warm climates. But if that climate is near to the ocean? Salt will get to it. Old VeeDubs? They have belly pans underneath which can hide reality. Heāll see the photos of mine at its worst on the blog. If he gets a good one though heāll be in Nirvana too.
