Kevin Borich Express

Hi Riff Raffers,

Kevin has three shows in Melbourne in January. They kick off at the Westernport Hotel, San Remo on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th they let loose at The Memo Music Hall in St. Kilda and then a final show Sunday arvo at the Way Out West Newport Bowls Club on the 26th. The other members of the Express are Jon Carson on drums and Chris Gilbert on bass (a couple of rough diamonds). He’s about to release a new album, Duets. A single Call A Friend will be released next month from the album that features his old mate Russell Morris.

The tune reaches out to those who are struggling with tough times and the need for personal contact. Call a friend see how they’re travelling. It will be out on all good and bad streaming platforms, a new technological venture for Kevin and perhaps not such a fruitful one as he will only receive .0004 of a cent for each Spotify stream. Kevin said, “he had to go kicking and screaming into the future.” The plan is to release a tune every three months or so on this platform with a CD in the pipeline further down the track.

If you need help and don’t know who to talk too these services can help Life Line 13 11 14 and Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636.

Have added a new Riff Hits & Bits to my Soundcloud platform. Brod Smith adds harp to Bluestone’s excellent cover of Neil Young’s tune Let It Shine off their 1982 album release The Closer You Get. Colleen Hewett provides backing vocals on the tune. Terry Dean lead vocalist and guitarist of Bluestone is a current member of Kerryn Tolhurst’s band doing the songs of The Dingoes and Country Radio.
